According to RacingNews365, Andreas Seidl will soon depart his position as F1 Team Principal.
Andreas Seidl, the McLaren Team Principal, is expected to depart the Woking team and attend Sauber in a transfer that will probably be revealed shortly.
Australian sources familiar with the matter have informed RacingNews365.com that the German would enter Sauber as CEO. This decision was prompted by Audi’s current strategic investment in the squad in preparation for its 2026 F1 debut.
Seidl would take over for Frederic Vasseur, whose retirement from Sauber is anticipated to be announced soon. After Mattia Binotto left his position as Ferrari’s Team Principal previous month, the Frenchman has been discussed in connection with the position.
Seidl previously held the position of Team Principal for Porsche’s LMP1 team, which was responsible for the German manufacturer’s three consecutive Le Mans championship victories from 2015 to 2017.
Since the German and Markus Duesmann, the CEO of Audi, previously collaborated at Sauber in the 2000s, when the Swiss team was managed by BMW, Audi executives are also acquainted to the German.
