Even though Oscar Piastri’s time at McLaren is still in its beginning, Lando Norris already sees a lot of differences between the Australian and Daniel Ricciardo, his predecessor.

According to Lando Norris, Daniel Ricciardo, a previous McLaren racer, and Oscar Piastri are currently proving to be each other’s “opposites.”

Before to his first Formula One season, Piastri, a 21-year-old who took Ricciardo’s place at the team, drove the MCL60 in preseason testing in Bahrain.

Norris has already noticed several distinctions between Piastri and Ricciardo, even if it is still early for the Australian  on the squad.

Norris told the media, including RacingNews365.com, that Oscar was “11 [or] 10 years younger than Daniel, but he’s quiet.”

“I think he’s a little bit the opposite of Daniel at the minute. Of course, it’s his first year in Formula 1, so there’s a lot of pressure.”

Norris gives Piastri compliments

Norris feels that Piastri has so far adapted well to life in the team despite being newly introduced to the team and Formula 1 motorsport.

The Briton said, “[For him to be making his debut] is still a big moment.

“I feel like I’m talking like I’m super experienced, I guess I’m in my fifth year now. But it’s a big moment for him, so I’m sure he looks forward to it.

“He’s been doing a good job for the whole team. [He’s] been getting some good laps in and giving good feedback.

“[He’s a] lovely guy and we’ve been getting on well so far, so [I] look forward to it.”

It comes as McLaren appears to be struggling during pre-season testing, with the Woking-based team completing the fewest laps of any team.
