George Russell has reportedly signed his contract with Mercedes in Toto Wolff’s office

George Russell has reportedly signed his contract with Mercedes and is on the brink of completing a long-anticipated move.

When Russell joins the team from Williams, he will form an all-British partnership with Lewis Hamilton.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old put pen to paper in Toto Wolff’s office during Sunday’s Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, indicating that the move might be revealed this week.

Russell finished seventeenth in the Netherlands, while Max Verstappen won from pole position in front of a raucous Dutch crowd.

As title challenger Verstappen reclaimed the lead, Hamilton finished second.

Mercedes has replaced Valtteri Bottas, who is poised to join Alfa Romeo, with Russell.

Both signings might be made public before the Italian Grand Prix at Monza next weekend.
