Crashalong, a company that specialises in reenacting real-life crashes, has published a 3D animation depicting Zhou Guanyu’s British Grand Prix incident.

After connecting with George Russell at the beginning of the Silverstone race, Zhou’s car was turned upside down, sending him crashing off the track at a high rate of pace.

Then, his Alfa Romeo sank into the gravel, leapt the outer barrier considerably, and finally came to rest pressed up against the inner catch netting.

Surprisingly, the Chinese racer posted on social media to certify his safety after being discharged from the track’s medical centre following precautionary examinations.

The FIA and F1 are attempting to make roll hoop safety changes for the 2023 season as a result of the incident.

After carefully analysing the video, Crashalong reproduced the incident from beginning to end. While there are some “informed estimates regarding the physics of the car and circuit components,” it provides a new perspective on what transpired.
