In 2023, the Red Bull racer might be on the verge of breaking another record held by Lewis Hamilton.
From the most victories in a season (15) to the most points scored in a season, Max Verstappen had a record-breaking 2023. (454).
He now appears poised to break a record that Lewis Hamilton had previously owned for the longest streak of successful finishes in the points.
Between the British Grand Prix in 2018 and the Bahrain GP in 2020, the seven-time World Champion held the record for 48 consecutive races.
Between the 2016 Japanese GP and the 2018 French GP, Hamilton completed 33 races in the points, therefore he already had this record.
Verstappen intends to break the record
Verstappen has only currently finished 19 consecutive races in the points, winning 14 of them races in 2022.
He had already been on the list for his run of points from the Belgian GP in 2018 to the Hungarian GP in 2019, but with that effort he reaches the top ten in F1 history (21 times).
To beat Hamilton, he would have to maintain a point total during the 2023 season, putting him in position to break the record in 2024. If Red Bull has resolved their dependability issues, then that would be feasible.
