Masashi Yamamoto, head of Red Bull’s engine development, has pushed the squad to leverage on what he expects will be a great performance for them at the next French Grand Prix with only two races left before Formula One’s vacations.

In the French Grand Prix, Red Bull engine consultant Masashi Yamamoto anticipates that Red Bull will have the upper hand over Ferrari.
In the first two of the month of July’s four races, the Scuderia has come out on top. Carlos Sainz earned his first Formula One race in Silverstone, and Charles Leclerc won the following week in Austria.
Despite this, Max Verstappen won the Sprint during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend and is still in first place in the World Championship standings with 208 points, which gives him a 38-point advantage over Leclerc.

Yamamoto has advised Red Bull to ensure they don’t make any mistakes at the Circuit Paul Ricard before the forthcoming Grands Prix in France and Hungary, which will come before Formula One enters its summer vacation.
Yamamoto emphasises how crucial the French Grand Prix is
The 2022 Formula One season’s second half kicks off with the French Grand Prix, and Yamamoto—a former managing director of Honda who is currently an engine consultant for Red Bull—considers it to be a crucial weekend.
He also has confidence in the success of his team on the racetrack.

“I think France is more in Red Bull’s favour, so we can’t drop it,” Yamamoto told Japanese website as-web.
“It’s a crucial point.”
Will Ferrari benefit from Hungary?
While Yamamoto has great expectations for Red Bull in France, he acknowledges that things might be very different at the Hungarian Grand Prix the following week.
According to Yamamoto, the Hungaroring might be a better fit for the Scuderia.

“In Hungary, on the contrary, I have a feeling that Ferrari will win because they have better traction at low and medium speeds,” he explained.
“But I think Red Bull will do something to counter that.”
“I want to finish the two races before the summer break in good shape,” the engine consultant concluded.
