Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari have all made engine and transmission adjustments before the Miami Grand Prix weekend, joining Alpine, Haas, and Alfa Romeo.
Before the Miami Grand Prix, Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari changed the engines and gearboxes in the automobiles of Charles Leclerc, Sergio Perez, and George Russell.
Russell and Perez will share a new gearbox case and cassette with Fernando Alonso (Alpine) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas), as well as a new gearbox driveline, gear change components, and auxiliary components.
Likewise, Leclerc has accompanied Pierre Gasly and a group of Ferrari customer team racers in testing a new Internal Combustion Engine (ICE).
Leclerc, Perez, and Russell not face any penalties
FIA Formula 1 Technical Delegate Jo Bauer verified the alterations in a memo released soon before FP1 for the Miami Grand Prix.
Because all of the aforementioned components are within the season’s maximum of four, none of the racers named will be penalised as a consequence of different alterations.
In FP1, Leclerc was fastest, followed by Russell, while the two Red Bull cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were fourth and fifth.
