Kyle Larson, the defending Cup winner, will start last in Sunday’s Cup race, according to the team.

Larson would head to the back for an unauthorised modification to solve a steering issue, according to the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports team on social networks.

Larson placed seventh out of 36 drivers.

Harrison Burton (unapproved alterations) and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will also begin from the back on Sunday (engine change).

The race will begin at 3:47 p.m. ET on Fox on Sunday.

Larson, on the other hand, is coming off a successful weekend. At Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California, he won the World of Outlaws race on Saturday night. It was his 25th feature triumph in the World of Outlaws. It was his first triumph in a sprint car this season. For Kasey Kahne Racing, Larson’s brother-in-law, Brad Sweet, placed second.
