Jos Verstappen deletes a tweet, claiming that his angry remarks towards Wolff were misunderstood

After all, Jos Verstappen has spoken with F1-insider.com. This looks to be new information received by the moderators of the Reddit.com Formula 1 section. Following a misunderstanding about angry statements sent to Toto Wolff, Verstappen has since deleted his post.

“The tweet where Jos Verstappen replied to a Dutch media outlet was only a misunderstanding. He did talk to a reporter of ours Ralf Bach. Ralf Bach and Jos know each other for years. Jos just never realised that Ralf also works for F1 Insider as this site is relatively new compared to the other outlets Ralf Bach has worked for in his over 40 years as an F1 journalist. We talked to Jos Verstappen about the tweet and what it caused and he agreed to erase the tweet in question,” we can read on Reddit.

Jos Verstappen has removed the offending tweet. Ralf Bach is an experienced F1 journalist with over 40 years of experience in the sport. He worked for a number of publications, including Sport Bild, Auto Bild Sport, and Sport1. But today he’s the editor-in-chief of F1-insider.com, a relatively new website.

All of this commotion arose when Jos Verstappen made some remarks earlier in which he implied that Toto Wolff doesn’t need to call in the future. “You don’t celebrate your victory with such euphoria if your colleague is still in hospital. And as for Toto Wolff, we’ve had good contact for years. I think everyone knows why. He didn’t contact us yesterday. Now he doesn’t have to call either,” Jos said at the time.

When Jos saw these statements, he promptly responded on Twitter, saying: ‘Haven’t had a conversation with F1 insider at all.’ The website was accused of spreading fake news as a result of this tweet, but it all turned out to be a misunderstanding. This tweet was taken down.
