Brandon Jones won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville, which involved a 20-car pile-up and a pit-road brawl.

Ty Gibbs led the race for the majority of it, dominating 197 of the 261 laps, and continued to do so when the two additional overtime began.
Brandon Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing shoved him out of the way and raced into the lead after the white flag, holding off Landon Cassill for his first win of the 2022 season.
After being overtaken, Gibbs got into a three-wide struggle with Sam Mayer, who bumped him up the track and into ninth place.

On the cool down track, Gibbs attempted to knock out Mayer, and after they both stopped on pit road, Gibbs confronted Mayer. After a short chat, the two got into an altercation, which NASCAR authorities had to break up.
After the race, Gibbs was summoned to the NASCAR transporter.
Last week in Richmond, Gibbs bumped JGR colleague John Hunter Nemechek out of the way in the final turn on the final lap to win his third race of the season.
Jones’ sixth career victory and first since the 2020 season.

“What a day,” Jones said. “I can’t say we could have played it out any better. I loved the call to stay out to get stage points. Drove the thing from all the way in the back to the front on older tires than all those guys there at the end.
“This is driver’s race track right here. I’ve won at a lot of different race tracks now and this is one where you have to get after it. Ty ran a really hard race. He had a strong car.
“It’s fun to beat him. He’s hot right now – he’s tough to beat – so that’s a good one.”

Allmendinger took third place and received the $100,000 Dash4Cash incentive, while Austin Hill came in fourth and Mayer came in fifth.
Jones, Cassill, Allmendinger, and Hill will compete for the $100,000 prize in the following race, which will take place on April 23 at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., a NASCAR Hall of Famer, placed 11th in his first race of the 2022 season.
