Suzuki has revealed its MotoGP race livery for Joan Mir and Alex Rins in 2022.
This is the new Suzuki MotoGP race livery, and Joan Mir and Alex Rins will be hoping to reclaim the top step of the podium in 2022 with the GSX-RR.
The updated livery adds some black to the typical blue and silver color scheme, around the front numberplate. Monster logo, which debuted last year, is still visible on the lower portion of the fairing (plus screen and front fender).
Mir was frustrated last season after gaining his maiden MotoGP victory en route to winning the 2020 championship, Suzuki’s first since Kevin Schwantz in 1993.
Mir finished third in the world championship behind Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo and Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia, but the Spaniard made it obvious that Suzuki needed to make more technical development.
The manufacturer was the last to provide a ride-height gadget to its race team, shortly after the summer break, but it had little impact on Mir or Rins’ fortunes during the Ducati-dominated final rounds.
Rins’ hopes of winning the title in 2021 were dashed by a succession of early European round blunders, as well as a wrist injury sustained in a freak bicycle accident right before Catalunya.
With only one rostrum appearance, the three-time MotoGP race winner was ranked 13th in the final standings.
Mir and Rins, like the majority of riders, are out of contract at the conclusion of the season, and Suzuki is yet to name a replacement for Davide Brivio, who left for F1 over a year ago.
