Lewis Hamilton will be knighted at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, three days after losing the Formula One championship to Max Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton will be knighted this week, over a year after being selected to the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for the year 2021.
Sir Lewis Hamilton will be able to use the title Sir Lewis Hamilton at an investiture at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, December 15 to accept the honor for services to motorsports, which will be added to his MBE award from 2008.
Hamilton will be knighted with Sir Donald Runnicles, the General Music Director of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, for services to music, and Sir David Suchet, an actor, for services to drama and charity, according to a brief announcement from Buckingham Palace.
The event comes just three days after Hamilton was beaten by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for his eighth World Championship championship, and just 24 hours before Hamilton is scheduled to attend the FIA’s prize-giving ceremony in Paris.
