According to multiple reports, Brad Keselowski will join Roush Fenway Racing as a driver/owner in 2022.
Roush Fenway Racing has “informed its partners that it has a done deal” with Keselowski, according to Sports Business Journal, citing anonymous sources. Fox Sports has also confirmed the 2022 shift. This comes after reports last month that Keselowski had been offered a chance to become a driver/owner beginning next season at Roush Fenway Racing.
Roush Fenway Racing has not disclosed the acquisition “out of respect to Team Penske,” according to Sports Business Journal. The driver for Team Penske’s No. 2 Cup car next season has yet to be announced. Keselowski’s contract with Team Penske is coming to an end this year.
In 2009, Keselowski competed in three Xfinity races for Penske before becoming a full-time employee in 2010. For Team Penske, the 37-year-old Keselowski won the 2012 Cup championship. He has 35 career Cup victories, including one at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this season. For Team Penske, he has a total of 67 victories (Cup and Xfinity).
Keselowski is tenth in points heading into this weekend’s doubleheader at Pocono Raceway (3 p.m. ET Saturday and 3:30 p.m. ET Sunday, both on NBCSN).
Off the track, Keselowski owns Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing, a cutting-edge 3-D printing company housed in the same facility as his Camping World Truck Series team. Keselowski’s company caters to the aerospace, defense, medical, and automobile industries.
