Kyle Larson is on a hot streak.
Following two consecutive Cup Series victories, the Hendrick Motorsports driver won the NASCAR All-Star Race from pole position at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday night.
Larson won the 2019 All-Star Race, but at the time of the 2020 race, he was serving a suspension from the series.
Larson won the $1 million winner-take-all prize by holding off a challenge from Brad Keselowski in the final laps of the six-stage exhibition race. Chase Elliott, the champion the year before, finished third.
Elliott, William Byron, and Larson of Hendrick Motorsports started the last segment 1-2-3. During the 30-lap fifth segment, Elliott went from third to first, with a required four-tire stop and a $100,000 award for the crew that made the fastest stop. Byron came in seventh place at the end of the night.
The All-Star race will be held in Texas for the third time in three years. Because of COVID-19 regulations in North Carolina, it was moved from Charlotte, which hosted 34 of the first 35 All-Star races, to Bristol last summer.
