Fabio Quartararo extended his lead in the MotoGP world championship after winning the British Grand Prix in front of a sold-out Silverstone crowd.
The Frenchman won for the fifth time this season, beating Alex Rins and Aleix Espargaro of Spain.
Jack Miller of Australia finished fourth despite starting seventh after a difficult qualifying session in which he was disappointed with his tyres.
Miller charged through the field, finishing fourth for the majority of the race until a late dash.
During a thrilling closing lap, Miller traded the final podium spot with Aleix Espargaro, but only held third for a brief moment before finishing a close-run fourth by 0.149 seconds.
Espargaro’s podium was Aprilia’s first in the current era of MotoGP.
On the fifth lap, Quartararo took the lead from pole-sitter Pol Espargaro and refused to give it up, extending his championship lead to 65 points over reigning world champion Joan Mir, who finished ninth.
