Rookie of the Year was awarded to Zane Maloney at the FIA Prize Giving ceremony in Bologna.

The Barbadian won the prize after a great season in Formula 3, where he nearly lost to Victor Martins in his debut season.

His impressive performance has won him a spot on Red Bull’s young driver roster alongside competitors from the F3 series Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson.

Given to Formula 1 and Formula 2 racers frequently, the FIA’s Rookie of the Year award has been given to him in honor of his performance this season.

Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Alex Albon, and Yuki Tsunoda are some of the previous winners. Leclerc won twice for his rookie seasons in F2 and F1.

Guanyu Zhou (F1) and Logan Sargeant, two racers in higher leagues, presented Maloney with competition (P4 in F2).
