Byron heads into this end of the week very nearly making the Cup title race interestingly. He drives Denny Hamlin by five for the last exchange spot.

Byron’s experience running Late Model races this season allowed him additional opportunities to chip away at his race create, whether it was additional time on restarts, overseeing tires, or something different. His prosperity this year — which remembered winning the Slinger Nationals for Wisconsin in July — likewise gave additional certainty.

Byron heads to Martinsville having come out on top in the spring race (and the Setting up camp World Truck Series race that end of the week), yet he faces an extreme rival in Hamlin, who has five Martinsville triumphs and 16 top-five completions in 33 beginning there. Byron will make his tenth Cup start at the memorable half-mile track. Hamlin has run almost 16,000 laps in those Martinsville races contrasted with Byron, who has run a little more than 4,200 laps there.

Byron’s spring success at Martinsville was his second of the time, yet he hasn’t won in NASCAR since. He has won three Late Model races since. He won in May at Carnival Speedway in Nashville, in June at Berlin Raceway in Michigan, and in July’s Slinger Nationals.
