Brembo, the Formula One brake supplier, has published a brief film describing the strains that F1 vehicles’ brakes will face at this weekend’s first Miami Grand Prix.

Although this 5.412km Miami International Autodrome has only four significant braking zones, the most difficult will be at Turn 17, where racers will decelerate from 326 km/h to 78 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, pulling 4.6G.

For the 2022 season, F1’s new innovative technical rules have resulted in heavier vehicles with larger wheels, requiring brakes to be scaled up proportionately.
