Bubba Wallace of NASCAR sends a message to “People Who Feel Entitled to Everything”

7h

“There’s a lot of people that feel entitled to everything in this world.” NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace tweeted in a thread on Monday Night, “So this is for them. I don’t owe them a d–n thing.”

Wallace’s set of tweets came after a “awkward moment” in which he turned down a live interview with FOX before Talladega.

Wallace had his headphones on and was standing out of the way of reporters when he received the interview request.

“You were so strong at Daytona, how about it, now? Talladega. This could be the day,” Fox’s Jeff Gordon said to a headphone-clad Wallace. There was no response.

Some NASCAR fans responded harshly to Wallace’s appearance, claiming that athletes should always take interviews. Others have stated that he obviously refused to speak before being contacted, and therefore no one has the right to his time. Wallace echoed this sentiment.

Bubba Wallace Talks Depression

Bubba Wallace’s journey to where he is now has been everything but simple. He talked about his depression difficulties as his Twitter thread continued.

He went on to explain the headphones, “Imagine sharing your experiences with others that struggle too. Imagine helping people find ways to cope with depression. Mine is music.” So what exactly happened when Bubba Wallace turned down an interview? This was his viewpoint.

So, what is his message to entitled people? You never know what kinds of struggles people are up against. The reactions are mixed, as they are with many of Bubba Wallace’s tweets. However, many others backed the NASCAR driver.

A particularly supportive message read, “Bubba, I’m 52 and been dealing with issues since I was 12. My dad died of pancreatic cancer. Music saved my life. It was my escape from the hell I was living in. If you see this, I commend you for your openness and encourage you to stay strong.”

Bubba Wallace has already spoken up about his sadness. Over 3 million people in the United States are affected each year by this commonly misunderstood disorder, which can cause alterations in brain function. In one particularly notable instance, in a podcast with Dale Earnhardt Jr., he frankly discussed his problems with depression, stress, bottling emotions, and therapy.
