Daniil Kvyat thinks that Red Bull’s ability and willingness to provide Max Verstappen all he needs have contributed to the Dutchman’s accomplishments in dominating F1 over the previous two seasons.
Max Verstappen’s ongoing accomplishments at Red Bull in the past few years, according to former Red Bull racer Daniil Kvyat, is a result of the squad meeting all of his demands.
Due to Red Bull’s RB19 appearing to be the best car in the competition, Verstappen, who has won the last two F1 Drivers’ Championships, appears to be in a good position to add a third championship in 2023.
Verstappen’s skill is undeniable, but Kvyat pointed out that everything at Red Bull is set up just how the World Champion desires.
inevitably Verstappen deserved credit, Kvyat said in the Track Limits podcast.
“He’s doing an amazing job. Very strong wheel-to-wheel, probably the strongest wheel-to-wheel.
“But I think everyone’s beatable in certain conditions, and the team has given him everything he needs, everything he wants.”
Red Bull has easily won the first three races of 2023 after dominating in 2022, and Kvyat hinted that numerous other teams may be looking to the drinks-backed team for design ideas for their own cars.
“Now people have understood that the only way to beat them is to copy their car,” Kvyat said.
“It’s as simple as that. Maybe next year, people will catch up, but this year [Red Bull] still look way ahead of everyone.
“Maybe towards the end of the year, with development, people will be able to get closer, but I still think they are obviously dominating. Also, the Honda engine has been great. They have everything they need.”
Kvyat regrets not having competed alongside Verstappen
Kvyat received a promotion to Red Bull for 2015 after a successful first season in Formula One at Toro Rosso in 2014, and Verstappen took Kvyat’s place at Toro Rosso.
But Kvyat never managed to take victory in a race for Red Bull, and four races into 2016, the Russian driver was sent back to Toro Rosso and replaced by Verstappen, who immediately triumphed in his maiden race for Red Bull at that year’s Spanish Grand Prix.
“Now people have understood that the only way to beat them is to copy their car,” Kvyat said.
Kvyat expressed sadness that the two racers were never teammates, despite the fact that their two Formula One careers have been closely associated.
