Over the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, the Mercedes engines are expected to take on a somewhat different appearance to celebrate a significant anniversary.
The Belgian Grand Prix will feature a special livery for Mercedes in recognition of a significant event.
The F1 squad will honour AMG, the high-performance division of Mercedes and the team’s namesake, who are marking their 55th anniversary by including special layout emblems on both cars.
As shown in the tweet below, the sidepods will also be adorned with vintage beginning numbers and the names of the racers.
The Silver Arrows had previously opted for a retro appearance. With vintage livery and attire, the squad commemorated their 125th year in racing during the 2019 German Grand Prix.
Mercedes’ weekend turned out to be a total disaster, and manager Toto Wolff afterwards declared that they will be careful not to make the same errors again for fear of creating a distraction.
