Sacha Fenestraz of France escaped the Sunday high-speed collision at Fuji Speedway uninjured when his Dallara SF19 split in half when it struck the fences.
Sunday’s Round 6 of the 2022 Super Formula Championship at Fuji Speedway featured an impressive incident that caused Sacha Fenestraz’s Kondo Racing car to split in half as it slammed into the barriers at a high rate of speed.
When Naoki Yamamoto clipped the right-rear of Fenestraz’s Toyota-powered car during a race at Sportsland Sugo, the Frenchman lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the tyre barrier. Fenestraz is presently third in the Super Formula series and had previously won the event.
Fenestraz was able to escape the collision and later tweeted to clarify he was unharmed, even though the power of the collision caused the back of the Dallara SF19 to separate from the rest of the chassis.
