Rain and light snow flurries have caused the beginning of Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series competition at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway to be postponed.

The 400-lap race was meant to begin at 7:58 p.m. ET, but rain and snow flurries in the vicinity forced the beginning to be pushed back. Measures are currently being made to dry off the tracks.

On Fox Sports 1, the race will be broadcast live.

For the first time this season, Chase Elliott, NASCAR’s most well-known driver, will begin from the pole. As the eighth race of the 2022 season approaches, he remains the lone Hendrick Motorsports driver without a win.

However, Elliott, who is 26 years old, is in first place in the series.

Second will be Aric Almirola, third will be Cole Custer, fourth will be Chris Buescher, and fifth will be William Byron.

Kevin Harvick, Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski, and Todd Gilliland round out the top ten drivers in the starting lineup.
