Nikita Mazepin raced in Formula 2 and Formula 3
Hitech GP, a Formula 2 team, has acknowledged that its sponsorship with Uralkali has come to an end.
Since 2016, when Nikita Mazepin started a drive with the team at F3 level, Hitech has been supported by the Russian potash fertiliser producer and exporter.
Uralkali and two other corporations once controlled a piece of the team, but on February 15, the team’s founder, Oliver Oakes, took possession of all shares and reclaimed full ownership of the F2 squad.
“It was always part of the strategic plan for Bergton Management to exit Hitech in early 2022 and myself to own Hitech fully,” Oakes told RacingNews365.com, referring to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Hitech GP made the announcement posted Tuesday afternoon that they have “elected to terminate, with immediate effect, Uralkali’s sponsorship agreement.”
“As with the rest of the motorsport community, the team are shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine and wish for a swift and peaceful end to the ongoing conflict.”
For the 2022 Formula One season, Hitech has signed Juri Vips, a Red Bull driver, and Marcus Armstrong, a former Ferrari rookie.
