Due to a positive Covid 19 test, Jack Miller will be unable to leave Australia; the Ducati team launch has been postponed until February 7, with the racing livery to be revealed on January 31.
UPDATE: Following the announcement of Jack Miller’s positive Covid test and his absence from the factory’s planned 2022 MotoGP team introduction on January 28, Ducati has opted to postpone the launch until February 7.
Miller is currently in self-isolation in Australia and will have a second PCR test next week. Due to his inability to travel at the present, the official team photoshoot will not be able to take place in time for the ‘virtual’ debut on January 28.
Meanwhile, the new Ducati MotoGP livery for 2022 will be introduced on January 31, the first day of the Shakedown test in Sepang, Malaysia, when test rider Michele Pirro will be on track for the first time this year.
After testing positive for Covid-19, Jack Miller will be unable to attend the Ducati MotoGP launch next week.
Due to the diagnosis, the double 2021 race winner is unable to leave his home in Australia, where he has been spending the winter.
“G’day guys, unfortunately as you can tell I’m still here at home in Australia due to testing positive for ‘Corona’, so I’m currently unable to travel and will miss the team presentation,” Miller said in a video message on Twitter.
“I just want to let you all know that I’m doing fine. No symptoms. Still able to continue training and what not here on the farm. Just unable to travel at this point in time.”
Francesco Bagnaia, a teammate and title runner-up, will be the sole Ducati Lenovo rider present at the virtual launch on January 28.
Miller’s next MotoGP appointment will be the Official Sepang test on February 5-6, assuming he tests negative and is able to travel again.
Miller will most likely fly immediately to Malaysia from Australia since that he will not be attending the team’s launch in Italy.
