Cristiano Ronaldo appreciates his return to Carrington

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Carrington for the first time since rejoining the club before the summer transfer window closed.

On Tuesday morning, in what was bound to be an emotional event for our no.7, he arrived at the base where he honed his world-class talents, with our official photographers capturing the special moments.

After breaking the men’s international goals record while with Portugal last week, he was eager to get started on this latest exciting chapter of his United career.

Ronaldo was allowed permission to visit Manchester last Thursday because he is suspended for his country’s World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan this evening (Tuesday).

In the manager’s office, Cristiano met with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a former teammate, before being introduced to the players who are now in training.

The spectacular Juventus signing joined the session with his teammates and wasted no time in getting to know the others.

With upcoming challenges at home and abroad, including a Premier League match against Newcastle on Saturday and the opening of the Champions League at Young Boys on Tuesday, it is hoped that the striker will be ready to help the team and make an early impact in his second spell at the club.

The countdown to Saturday’s 15:00 BST kick-off with the Magpies has begun in earnest, with the rest of our international contingent scheduled to return to Carrington in the coming days.

The match at Old Trafford will be broadcast live on MUTV, the Official App, and ManUtd.com, and it promises to be a memorable occasion.
