MoneyLion, a financial platform, has secured a multiyear relationship with 23XI Racing’s two-car operation for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series, the team said Thursday.

In select races this year, the deal comprises main sponsorship of 23XI’s No. 23 Toyota for driver Bubba Wallace and the No. 45 Toyota for Kurt Busch. Starting with this weekend’s Busch Light Clash exhibition event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, MoneyLion will be an associate sponsor for both cars throughout the season (Sunday, 6 p.m. ET, FOX, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

“As we continue to move into our second year, we’re excited to add innovative partners like MoneyLion to the 23XI Racing family,” 23XI Racing president Steve Lauletta said, in a release provided by the team. “In MoneyLion we find a company that shares similar goals, like building a winning team unlike any other in our respective industries and making a difference for those around us. We look forward to a partnership that is as successful on the track as it is off the track.”

MoneyLion will make its debut as a key sponsor for Busch’s No. 45 Toyota at Phoenix Raceway on March 13. On May 8, at Darlington Raceway, the firm will be the major sponsor of Wallace’s No. 23 for the first time.

MoneyLion has been a key sponsor in NASCAR since 2019, the first year of a three-year partnership with Team Penske. Through its Young Lions initiative, the New York-based corporation stated that it plans to collaborate with 23XI to promote a message of inclusion and opportunity.

“It’s a great fit for me and our team to partner with a company that strives to make a lasting difference in other people’s lives,” Wallace said. “Coming up I had people help to make that difference for me as I worked toward my dream of racing in NASCAR, and I hope through the partnership with MoneyLion and the powerful financial content and products they offer, we can help more people feel equipped and empowered to chase their dreams.”

Busch said: “It’s great to welcome MoneyLion to the 23XI Racing team. We have a vision for thinking about racing differently and it’s great to have a partner on our team that shares a similar outlook within their industry. We look forward to having fun together this year and enjoying some exciting moments on the track as we compete for wins.”

In the NASCAR Cup Series, 23XI Racing is entering its second season. For 2022, the team will field two cars, with former series champion Busch partnering with Wallace, who won his first race for both himself and the team last season.
