At the finale of the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Mexican driver responds to Max Verstappen ignoring team instructions.

After Max Verstappen refused to follow team instruction at the finale of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Sergio Perez had negative comments to make about the Dutch driver.

At the finish line of the race, Verstappen disregarded the order to let Perez back through and responded to his engineer’s question by saying over the team radio, “I gave you my reasons.”

After the race, Perez was visibly upset and spoke about how he had previously followed team directives to keep Verstappen on the racetrack.

“After all I’ve done for him, it’s very disappointing,” said the Mexican to Sky Sports. “I’m really surprised”

Perez responded to a question regarding possible explanations for ot giving the position back: “No idea. Maybe you should ask him about it.”

Perez and Leclerc have equal points

With 290 points each, Perez and Charles Leclerc are tied going into the final race in Abu Dhabi.

The Mexican would have received a further two points if Verstappen had allowed him to back past.
