After an unusual incident in qualifying at Aragon, in which they prevented a competitor racer from leaving the pit lane, two Moto3 mechanics have been given racing bans.

Late in qualifying, Max Biaggi’s team’s mechanics obstructed Tech3 KTM rider Adrian Fernandez, preventing him from leaving in time to get by and begin a fast lap.

In video footage shared by Tech3 and MotoGP, the two mechanics in question can be seen seemingly contacting Fernandez’s brake, forcing him to stop in the middle of the pit lane.

He then experienced a stall, and by the time his crew managed to restart his car, it was too late for the Spaniard to record a quick lap, placing him in 15th place on the starting grid.

The two Max Racing Team members received bans for the upcoming two races as a result of the investigation that followed their acts.
