The 45-year-old Vernon, Texas native was suspended, according to NASCAR, on Wednesday. This followed a violation of Articles 4.1 & 10.1.A of the NASCAR regulations, including its Substance Abuse Policy.

As is usual, NASCAR kept the information about the drug that caused the violation.

Roper did not take part in the opening round of the 2023 season at Daytona International Speedway, but his Roper Racing team did compete the No. 04 Ford with racer Kaden Honeycutt.

Honeycutt, on the other hand, did not make the field. With the team, Honeycutt was planned to compete in the next five Truck events.

Roper has competed in 43 Trucks races, with the most current one being the Phoenix Raceway season-ending event in 2021.

If Roper completes NASCAR’s Road to Recovery program, he will be qualified for resumption.
